With the popularity of surveillance, surveillance cameras are constantly "evolving". From the old plug-in phone card monitoring, to the later video capture card and computer monitoring, to the recent connection video monitoring, and nowadays the hottest connection to wireless wifi monitoring. Now with the popularity of the Internet of Things, 4G surveillance has emerged. As the name suggests, 4G surveillance is the use of 4G sim card for surveillance networking to facilitate watching surveillance videos on mobile phones. You can watch real-time surveillance video online, download surveillance video data, and control the rotation and focus of the PTZ camera. So what are the common 4G surveillance, what are their similarities and differences, and what are their application scenarios, let's take a look together.
1. Pure 4G camera plug in SIM card to network
The camera itself can be inserted into a 4G-sim card, and it can be connected to a 4G network when it is powered on. It can be connected through the camera’s serial number or QR code, which is simple to operate and easy to use. The disadvantage is that the 4G-sim card is inserted into the camera. If the camera is installed at a high place, it is inconvenient to replace the 4G-SIM card in the future. It needs to be removed, replaced, and then installed. Of course, there are also wired surveillance video recorders with 4G cards inserted. For example, the general car monitoring is connected in this way.
Practical application: This 4G camera is widely used, such as the first choice for installation and monitoring of unmanned vending machines.
2. Network through 4G-sim card tray
This 4G card tray is usually USB style, of course, it is also plugged in through the 5V power plug of the mobile phone, and only supports wireless Internet access, not RJ45 port Internet access, so wired monitoring cannot use this method to connect to the Internet.
Practical application: This is a relatively common 4G surveillance solution on the Internet. The camera is an ordinary wireless camera (usually a wireless rotating camera), and then one or more Internet of Things traffic cards are included, which can be realized by inserting the traffic card into the 4G card tray. Wireless network, and then the camera is connected to the wireless network of the 4G Cato.
3. Connect to the Internet via a 4G router
The 4G router is a high-speed industrial Internet of Things router, compatible with 4G/3.5G/3G/2.5G networks across the board, flagship-level configuration, VPN link, industrial-grade protection, and wide temperature design, which can easily form a high-speed and stable wireless transmission network , Use the public LTE network to provide users with wireless long-distance data transmission functions. 4G routers are basically the same as ordinary routers except for the way they connect to the external network. The 4G router realizes receiving base station signals and surfing the Internet by inserting a SIM card. There are many 4G routers on the market, some of which can only connect to the Internet via wired, and some can connect to the Internet via both wireless and wired.
Practical application: When the farm does not have broadband and needs remote monitoring, install a 4G router, and then connect the video recorder to the 4G router for networking.
What other ways to implement 4G monitoring and actual application scenarios are welcome to leave a message for discussion.
