Infrared thermal imager uses infrared thermal imaging technology to detect the infrared radiation of the target object, and converts the temperature distribution image of the target object into video image by means of photoelectric conversion, signal processing and other means.
Infrared thermal imaging
The wavelength of visible light that our eyes perceive is 0.38 to 0.78 microns. We usually refer to electromagnetic waves longer than 0.78 microns as infrared. In nature, all objects will radiate infrared ray, so use the detector to determine the infrared difference between the target itself and the background, can get different infrared image, called thermal image.
The thermal image of the same target is different from the visible image. It is not the visible image that can be seen by human eyes, but the image of the target surface temperature distribution. In other words, the infrared thermal image is the thermal image that represents the target surface temperature distribution that human eyes can see instead of directly seeing the target surface temperature distribution.
Characteristics of infrared thermal imaging
All objects in nature with a temperature above absolute zero (-273℃) emit infrared radiation, and infrared (or thermal radiation) is the most widespread radiation in nature. The atmosphere and clouds absorb visible and near-infrared light, but are transparent to infrared light of 3-5 microns and 8-14 microns. Therefore, these two bands are known as the "atmospheric window" of infrared. Using these Windows, we can see clearly what is going on in front of us on a completely dark night or in a bad environment with heavy clouds. Because of this characteristic, infrared thermal imaging technology can be used in night surveillance and forest fire monitoring system.
Use of infrared thermal imaging
Thermal imager is very widely used, especially in the military, using thermal imager can be found at night to emit heat tank engines, soldiers. In industry, thermal imager can be used to quickly detect the temperature of the workpiece, so as to grasp the necessary information. Because electric motor, transistor and other electronic device failure is often accompanied by abnormal temperature rise, thermal imager can also be used to diagnose the fault quickly. When influenza, pneumonia and other diseases are prevalent, the thermal imager can be used to quickly determine whether there is fever. Because the temperature of cancer cells is higher, it can also be used to diagnose breast cancer and other diseases. Border authorities can also use it to determine whether there are stowaways in vehicles.
